Chicago Made website design

Mike Murphy April 16, 2014

This past week, I designed and coded a news website for my Producing A News Website class at Medill. In about two days, I came up with a look and feel, and got to work on coding the site. We had started with the ZeeFlow theme, but I basically broke it and ended up coding most of the design by hand. The content is all from great reporting done by my classmates.

The next issue will be out Friday.

I think I’m going to try to make the site responsive in the coming weeks, so the site works on tablets. Right now, it kind of looks a bit hilarious.

Here’s a few shots of the site:

UPDATE: The site has been modified so it now works on mobile, tablet and all laptops. Check it out!
